Wood in Culture Association

The Wood in Culture Association was founded in the autumn of 1998. The purpose of the Association is to devise and use cultural activity to promote the use and image of wood, as well as the quality and versatility of buildings and products made of wood. The Association distributes the International Spirit of Nature Wood Architect Award and the Young Spirit of Nature Wood Architecture Award, alternating annually with the Spirit of Nature Award. The Association is a non-profit organisation.

The Association’s Board of Directors consists of the Chair, elected annually, and eight members. In 2011, the Chair is Ms. Gunnel Adlercreutz, Professori (Finnish honorary title). The Association has an Advisory Board, chaired in 2009–2011 by Mr. Lauri Tarasti, Licentiate of Laws.
